Disclosure: we make JobTailor
JobTailor AI is our product and it is on this list, so weigh that. We read each competitor's plans and prices on its own website in October 2026 and did not run lab tests. Where another tool is the better pick, we say so, and we list JobTailor's limits too.
What is the best Jobscan alternative?
The best Jobscan alternative depends on what you use Jobscan for. If you want its detailed ATS match report, no tool on this list replicates it exactly, and Jobscan's free plan of 5 resume scans a month may be enough. If price is the problem, JobTailor ($2.99 a month) and Kickresume ($4.50 a month billed yearly) are the only two options under $10. If you want a free tool for a long search, Teal, Huntr and Simplify have the broadest free plans.
A cheaper alternative to Jobscan is not automatically a worse one, but check what you give up. Jobscan Premium costs $29.98 a month on the quarterly plan, billed $89.95 every three months, or $49.95 on the monthly plan. All seven tools below have a free plan, and their paid plans start at $2.99 a month and go up to $49 on month-to-month billing.
Should you stay on Jobscan or switch?
The short version, before the details.
- Stay if you scan occasionally: the free plan gives 5 resume scans a month, plus a job tracker, resume builder and Chrome extension.
- Stay if you use the Premium extras: Premium adds unlimited scans, AI Optimize with a compare view, an AI cover letter generator, a LinkedIn optimizer and Auto Apply credits.
- Switch if price is the reason: Premium is $29.98 a month at best, against $2.99 for JobTailor Pro.
- Switch if you want a free tracker or autofill: Teal, Huntr and Simplify have free trackers. Huntr, Simplify and JobTailor include autofill.
- Switch if you want a rewrite on a cheap plan: JobTailor's tailoring is on the free plan (2 a month), while Jobscan's AI Optimize sits behind Premium.

JobTailor AI: a Jobscan alternative from $2.99 a month
We make it, so judge it by its limits too.
- Best for: job seekers who want resume edits shown as tracked changes at the lowest paid price, with autofill included.
- Strengths: rewrites your resume for one job description, never invents employers, job titles, dates, credentials, tools or metrics, and lets you accept or reject each change. Also included: an ATS match score with a breakdown, cover letters, interview prep, a free job tracker and autofill that attaches the tailored PDF.
- Limits: it is newer than Jobscan, with a shorter track record and less ATS-specific depth. It has no LinkedIn optimizer. The extension runs in Chrome and Edge, and autofill covers 50+ job boards and career sites.
- Price: Free covers 2 tailored resumes, 3 cover letters and 6 saved jobs a month. Pro is $2.99 a month and Max is $9.99 a month. Students on a verified .edu email get Max free for 30 days.
Teal: a free Jobscan alternative for a long search
- Best for: job seekers who want a tracker, resume builder and AI helpers in one place.
- Strengths: the free forever plan has unlimited resumes and job tracking, 10 templates, the top 5 job-description keywords and some AI credits. Teal+ adds unlimited AI, all keywords, the Match Score and a LinkedIn profile review.
- Limits: the full keyword list and Match Score need Teal+. Its extension saves jobs to your tracker, and we found no application autofill.
- Price: Teal+ is $13 every 7 days, $29 every 30 days or $79 every 90 days.
Rezi: an ATS-focused builder with an AI writer
- Best for: people who want to build an ATS-friendly resume with AI help and keyword targeting.
- Strengths: the free plan includes the AI Resume Writer and AI Resume Editor, 1 AI interview and limited keyword targeting.

- Price: Pro is $29 a month and Lifetime is a one-time $149. Rezi advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Resume Worded: scoring for resumes and LinkedIn
- Best for: getting a score and feedback on a resume or LinkedIn profile before you apply.
- Strengths: Score My Resume, Targeted Resume and LinkedIn Review are free tools with a free account. Targeted Resume is a keyword scan against a job description with a relevancy score.
- Limits: full reports, AI writing features and the full LinkedIn analysis need Pro. We found no autofill or tracker.
- Price: Pro is $49 a month, $99 per 3 months ($33 a month) or $229 per year ($19 a month).
Huntr: a job tracker with free autofill
- Best for: job seekers who want the tracker as home base, with tailoring and autofill attached.

- Limits: the $4.50 rate needs a $54 yearly payment, and higher tailoring levels change more of your text, so read the report. We found no autofill.
- Price: Premium is $19 a month, $9 a month billed quarterly or $4.50 a month billed yearly.
Simplify: free autofill on career sites
- Best for: applying to many employers and wanting free autofill on as many career sites as possible.

Cheaper alternatives to Jobscan: the options under $10 a month
Jobscan Premium is $29.98 a month on the quarterly plan and $49.95 on the monthly plan. Only two alternatives here drop below $10.
| Plan | Cost per month | How it is billed |
|---|---|---|
| JobTailor Pro | $2.99 | Month to month; cancel any time |
| JobTailor Max | $9.99 | Month to month; cancel any time |
| Kickresume Premium, yearly | $4.50 | $54 charged once a year |
| Kickresume Premium, quarterly | $9 | $27 charged every 3 months |
| Jobscan Premium, quarterly (for comparison) | $29.98 | $89.95 every 3 months, with a 7-day free trial |
| Jobscan Premium, monthly (for comparison) | $49.95 | Month to month |
What you get for under $10 a month
JobTailor Pro at $2.99 a month covers 50 tailored resumes, 100 cover letters, 200 saved jobs and 3 job alerts a month, with the ATS match score and autofill. Max at $9.99 raises that to 300 tailored resumes, 200 cover letters, 1,000 saved jobs and 10 job alerts.
Kickresume's $4.50 a month needs $54 paid up front for the year, and it is built around templates and writing help rather than a Jobscan-style scan. Neither tool is a like-for-like replacement for Jobscan's match report, so test the free plan against your own resume before paying.
Watch the billing period when you compare. Teal+ and Simplify+ list weekly prices that look small but add up over a month, and Huntr, Resume Worded and Jobscan only get cheaper per month if you commit to three months or more. Check the monthly equivalent first.

JobTailor Pro is $2.99 a month and Kickresume Premium is $4.50 a month billed yearly ($54), against Jobscan at $29.98 a month on the quarterly plan or $49.95 monthly. Neither is a Jobscan-style deep ATS scanner, so try the free plan first. Prices checked October 2026.
How much does Jobscan cost, and is there a free plan?
Jobscan has a free plan with 5 resume scans a month. Premium is $29.98 a month billed as $89.95 every three months, with a 7-day free trial, or $49.95 on the monthly plan. Premium adds unlimited scans, AI Optimize, an AI cover letter generator, a LinkedIn optimizer and Auto Apply credits. Prices checked October 2026.
Is Jobscan worth paying for?
It is if you want the detailed match report, unlimited scans or the LinkedIn optimizer. If you only need a score now and then, the free plan's 5 scans a month may be enough, and JobTailor, Resume Worded and Teal give a free match or keyword check.
Jobscan vs Teal: which is better?
They do different jobs. Jobscan is a resume scanner, and its free plan gives 5 scans a month. Teal is a tracker with resume tools: its free plan has unlimited resumes and job tracking, but the Match Score and unlimited AI need Teal+. Pick Jobscan for the report and Teal to organize a long search.
Is there a Jobscan alternative that also autofills applications?
Yes. Simplify's free Copilot and Huntr's free plan include autofill, and JobTailor includes autofill on every plan, attaching the resume it tailored for the job. JobTailor and Copilot stop before Submit. Simplify's paid Autopilot submits applications without a review step.

Any AI told to match a job description can add skills or numbers you never had. JobTailor is built never to invent employers, job titles, dates, credentials, tools or metrics, and every change is shown for you to accept or reject. With any tool, check each edit and remove anything you could not discuss in an interview.
