The AI job application Chrome extension that tailors your resume on the page you're already looking at
Install JobTailor, open any job posting on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, or 45+ other boards, and get a tailored resume and cover letter in under a minute — grounded in the experience actually on your resume.
Stop copy-pasting job descriptions into a chatbot
The usual AI resume workflow is annoying. This one isn't.
Most people tailoring resumes with AI end up in a tab-juggling loop: open the job posting, select the description, copy it, switch to ChatGPT, paste it, paste the resume, prompt it, edit the output, download a PDF, and hope the formatting held. Do that fifteen times a week and you stop applying to jobs.
JobTailor is a Chrome extension that lives on the job posting itself. Click the icon, and it reads the description, scores your existing resume against it, and produces a rewritten version plus a matching cover letter. No copy-paste, no context-switching, no re-uploading your resume every session.
How it works on a real job posting
- 1Install and upload your base resume once
Add JobTailor from the Chrome Web Store and drop in your current resume as a PDF or DOCX. It becomes the single source of truth for every future tailor — the extension only reworks what's already there.
- 2Open any job on 50+ supported boards
LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, BambooHR, Wellfound, Otta, Y Combinator's Work at a Startup, and 40+ more. The extension auto-detects the job details from the DOM — no manual pasting.
- 3Get a match score and a tailored resume in one click
You see a keyword match breakdown against the posting, then a full tailored resume with the changes highlighted so you can accept or reject each edit. A cover letter drafts in the same flow.
- 4Download the PDF and apply
Export as a clean, ATS-friendly PDF (or DOCX). Everything you generate is saved to your JobTailor dashboard so you can track which version went to which company.
What the extension actually does on the page
Four things happen once you click the icon on a job posting.
Pulls the title, company, location, and full description from the page — no manual copy-paste, no browser prompt asking for the URL.
Shows a match percentage plus the specific keywords, skills, and requirements the posting emphasizes that your current resume is missing or underweight.
Rephrases and reorders your existing bullets to speak the language of the posting. Skills or roles that aren't on your resume don't get invented.
Uses the tailored resume plus the job description to produce a one-page cover letter you can edit inline. Follows a straightforward professional format — no purple prose.
The line we won't cross
Job boards the extension recognizes automatically
If the posting is on one of these, the extension detects it and pulls the details for you. If it's on a company career page not on the list, you can still paste the URL into the web app.

Privacy: your resume stays yours
The extension only activates on job board domains — it doesn't read pages you visit outside of applying to jobs, and it doesn't track your browsing. Your resume is stored on your JobTailor account (Supabase-hosted, encrypted at rest) and only used to generate the tailored versions you request.
We don't sell resume data, we don't train models on your uploads, and we don't share your applications with employers or recruiters. Delete your account and everything you've uploaded is removed. Support at khan@volods.com if you want a manual data export before you go.
Frequently asked
Is the JobTailor Chrome extension free?
Yes. The Free plan includes 2 tailored resumes, 3 cover letters, and 6 job extractions per month — enough to try it on a handful of real applications. Pro is $2.99/mo for 50 resumes / 100 cover letters / 200 extractions, and Max is $9.99/mo for 300 / 200 / 1000 if you're applying at scale.
Which job boards does the extension work on?
50+ boards including LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Wellfound, Otta, Y Combinator Work at a Startup, and most regional boards (SEEK, Reed, StepStone, Naukri). For company career pages not on the list, you can paste the URL into the web app instead.
Does the AI make up skills or experience I don't have?
No. This is the central design constraint. The extension rewrites and reorders what's already in your resume to match the posting's language, and it surfaces gaps so you can decide how to address them — but it won't invent tools, titles, or years of experience you didn't list.
How is this different from using ChatGPT to tailor my resume?
Three things: it runs on the job posting itself so no copy-paste, it keeps a persistent base resume so you're not re-uploading every session, and it exports a properly formatted ATS-friendly PDF. It also tracks every tailored version against the job it was made for, which ChatGPT doesn't.
Is my resume data safe?
Yes. Resumes are stored on your account (Supabase, encrypted at rest), never sold, never used to train models. The extension only activates on recognized job board domains — it doesn't read your other browsing. Delete your account and your data is removed.
Does it work on LinkedIn Easy Apply?
The extension generates the tailored resume and cover letter you upload during Easy Apply — it doesn't currently auto-fill the LinkedIn form itself. You download the PDF from JobTailor, then attach it in the Easy Apply flow. Auto-fill for common ATS forms is on the roadmap.
Can I edit the AI's output before downloading?
Yes. Every bullet in the tailored resume is inline-editable, and you can accept or reject each AI change individually. The cover letter is a plain contentEditable block — click anywhere, type, done. Nothing gets exported until you hit download.
What browsers does it support?
Chrome and any Chromium-based browser that installs Chrome Web Store extensions — Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi. Firefox and Safari versions aren't available yet.
